Seminars

Professional nursing organizations host nursing education seminars to provide information and teach skills that help nurses grow in their careers. The content of these events depends on the group that is organizing them. Topics range from leadership in nursing to clinical skills training.

Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are typically required to complete a certain amount of continuing education in order to maintain their licenses, but seminars and other continuing education programs offer benefits that extend well beyond satisfying this requirement. Educational seminars are a great way for all nurses to strengthen their practical knowledge and bolster their qualifications for more challenging nursing positions.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has celebrated this day since 1965. In 1953 Dorothy Sutherland, an official with the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, proposed that President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaim a "Nurses' Day"; he did not approve it.

In January 1974, 12 May was chosen to celebrate the day as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. As of 1998, 8 May was designated as annual National Student Nurses' Day.

AIDS Awareness Day

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) is held every year on March 10. NWGHAAD is a day to mobilize partners, supporters, and communities across the United States to share information and empower women and girls to learn more about the importance of HIV and AIDS prevention, care, and treatment.

Organizing an activity in our community shows that support all women and girls impacted by HIV and AIDS!

ONAM Festival

ONAM Festival

Onam is an annual Hindu festival celebrated in southern Indian state of Kerala. It is a harvest festival celebrated by Malayalis on August–September. It is the New Year day for Malayalis. It is also celebrated by Malayali diaspora around the world. Though its origins are often attributed to aspects in Hindu mythology, Onam is celebrated as a cultural festival across all communities in Kerala.

We celebrate Onam to commemorate a glorious past. All of us yearn for a time like that of King Mahabli, a time when properity, joy and love blended. But in order to realize this dream we need to put forward creative and sustained effort.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.

Malnutrition leads to increased healthcare costs, prolonged length of stay for patients and unfavourable prognosis for patients. The aim of nutritionDay worldwide is to improve knowledge and awareness of malnutrition in health care institutions and to overall enhance the quality of nutritional care.

Nutrition Day is a one-day cross-sectional audit with outcome evaluation. On a specific day every year (nDay) hospital wards and nursing homes around the world have the opportunity to participate in a one-day cross-sectional audit.
